Entertainment, pampering, shopping and dining at its second annual “Girls’ Night Out” event on Thursday, May 11 from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.

GET YOUR GLAM ON WHEN “GIRLS’ NIGHT OUT” RETURNS TO DOWNTOWN SOMERVILLE FOR AN EVENING OF PAMPERING, FUN, FOOD AND ENTERTAINMENT ON MAY 11

SOMERVILLE, N.J., April 19, 2017--Calling all ladies! Downtown Somerville is rolling out the red carpet for an evening of entertainment, pampering, shopping and dining at its second annual “Girls’ Night Out” event on Thursday, May 11 from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.  Girlfriends, mothers and daughters will revel in the excitement of a stylish party devoted entirely to them and organized by the Downtown

Somerville Alliance (DSA), with glam bags, fun entertainment, food and drink, music and prizes. More than 35 local businesses will be offering special experiences from makeovers and workshops to shopping and dining specials that highlight all that downtown Somerville has to offer.

Tickets include access to all featured entertainment and activities.

Somerville NJ Ladies Night Out

“Somerville’s first ‘Girls’ Night Out’ took place last year, and it was such a success that we’ve expanded the event to give more ladies the opportunity to be treated like celebrities, unwind, and enjoy time with their gal pals,” said Beth Anne Macdonald, DSA’s executive director. “By popular demand, we’ve extended the evening by an hour so ladies can experience more of what is being offered by merchants and restaurants.”

The Experience

The experience begins at the Division Street Plaza where attendees arrive and receive their glam bags brimming with gifts and beauty items specially selected by Somerville’s style and beauty experts. The fun starts with a stroll down the red carpet, DJ entertainment, and glamour shots by a professional photographer. Ladies will then hit the town for experiences like mini-makeovers, creative hair tips and blowouts, and psychic readings. Be whisked away for a limo ride, peruse jewelry and fashions, enjoy wine glass painting and essential oil workshops, and so much more.

Somerville is well-known for its eclectic shopping scene and merchants will be offering special sales, giveaways and prizes throughout the evening. The more ladies shop, the more chances they have to win the grand prize valued at over $1,000--a “Weekend of Wow in Downtown Somerville.” The prize includes a dress from haute-couture designer Jean-Ralph Thurin, styling and makeup by The Beauty Bar, six weeks of personalized fitness from Tatyana’s

Fitness, flowers from Gems and Stems, gourmet dinner at Boulevard Seafood, and a photo shoot at Hellion Photography. Additional prizes are being offered in stores by participating merchants.

The dining scene for “Girls’ Night Out” will be better than ever, with numerous award-winning restaurants crafting special menus and drinks especially with ladies in mind. Treats like complimentary gourmet cupcakes and honey tastings will satisfy sweet cravings before or after delicious dinners.

Advance tickets for “Girls’ Night Out” are $20 per person and can be purchased at several downtown businesses including:  The Hungry Hound, Gems and Stems, Tatyana’s Fitness, Three Hearts Home and Saffire Salon. In-store tickets grant attendees priority check-in. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.downtownsomerville.com.

Tickets are limited so advance purchase is strongly encouraged. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $25 on the night of the event. For more information about “Girls’ Night Out” and a complete list of participants, prizes and offers, visit www.downtownsomerville.com.
