What we collect
If you only browse, we do not ask you for anything. We keep no advertising profile on you and we do not sell or rent data to anyone, ever.
If you create an account, we store the email address and name you give us, plus a securely hashed password — handled by our authentication provider, Supabase. We use this to sign you in, to let you claim and edit a profile, and to contact you about something you submitted.
If you submit something — a profile, an event, a story pitch, a claim — we store what you typed so an editor can review it. Approved submissions become public content on this site.
Cookies
We set a session cookie when you log in, so the site remembers you between pages. That is a strictly necessary cookie; without it, logging in cannot work. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Information from other services
Business and creative listings on this site may include public information from Google — including a photo, address, phone number, website, star rating and reviews. Those reviews belong to their authors and to Google; we display them with attribution and link back to the original. Embedded maps and photos are served by Google and are subject to Google's own privacy policy.
Listings and your rights
Many listings are compiled from public sources, which means a page about you or your business may exist before you ever visit. You can claim your listing to take control of it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to remove it entirely — just get in touch at info@somervillecover.com. You can also ask us to delete your account and the personal data attached to it.
Content and copyright
Photography, writing and design on Somerville Cover are the property of Somerville Cover and The Cover Network unless credited otherwise, and may not be reproduced without permission. If you submit content, you confirm you have the right to share it and you grant us permission to publish it here with credit. If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, contact us and we will take it down while we look into it.
Terms of use
Use the site lawfully and in good faith: do not submit content that is false, defamatory, infringing or not yours to post, and do not attempt to disrupt the service or scrape it at scale. We review submissions before publication and may edit, decline or remove anything at our discretion. Listings and event details are provided in good faith but can go out of date — confirm details with the business before you rely on them.
