The Martino’s Story
Turn the lights off boys! We have a long day tomorrow and we need to be at our best. We have two big parties coming in and we have a lot of prepping to do so shut the lights off and get to sleep.’ So the lights went off in the basement of Martino’s on one of those nights in the early nineties, as the Linares family were starting up their restaurant in Somerville New Jersey. Spending many nights in the basement during the long restaurant weekends in those early days of Martino’s.
The air was flowing and the traffic was pretty normal on this day in June of the year 2010. A young couple had just finalized the deal for their first storefront in Somerville New Jersey. Naturally, the air was flowing tremendously faster against the man’s face as he stuck his head out the window of his small Scion xb and began to scream out onto Interstate 287.
How A Somerville Restaurant Almost Wasn’t A Somerville Restaurant
Starting this restaurant was not going to be easy. They didn’t even have a place yet for starters, but it was time and the owner was ready. Ready to find the place and make his vision a reality. The moment came. The place was found but they still had to close this deal to make the food they wanted to put out there.
